In trying to verify the VA event on their posts - it appears to be AI-generated - and the person's name they used in the agenda - does not seem to exist. Also, the language used is odd - not what I would consider the voice of our people or movement. Also, the directives were also not consistent with how we organize.
I am getting some questions - and a few pushbacks on my recommendation about NOT ATTENDING the VA event at the Bell Tower. If I cannot verify - and the organizer has no information or contact information, I stand by my recommendation. And moving forward, we need to trust our organizer instincts. We have been doing this for over 10 years - and we know our community. I do recommend attending events that we trust and can verify. Do your homework before posting as well. We know attending any event has risks - that is a given. We must stand up and fight back -- and be smart and strategic.
I might find a spot with distance from their demonstration to document what happens at the local one because this, this is what I needed to see. Thank you.
Thanks for posting this. I’m in NYC and was kicked out of the Discord for asking why they aren’t organizing with Indivisible, WFP & DSA, Gays Against Guns, JfREJ, and our other more local groups.
