Everything, Everywhere, All At Once!

‼️ REMINDER - NO FRIDAY POWER LUNCH May 23 and May 30, 2025‼️ We need planning time for the 9th Annual Women’s Summit. Get your ticket & book hotel!

🎈 We will be back LIVE on June 6, 2025 at 12 PM EDT

Everything, Everywhere, All At Once!

That’s exactly how we’re feeling right now—and all that energy is aimed squarely at Virginia. If your eyes aren’t on the Commonwealth, then you're missing the political epicenter of 2025. This race is historic for so many reasons, but let’s break down the top three:

  1. No matter who wins, we will elect the first woman Governor. Just not Winsome Sears, please!

  2. The Republican ticket is the most diverse in Virginia history—a twist from the party that publicly resists equity. Laughable but true!

  3. A massive Democratic blowout could not only turn Virginia blue—it could deal a crushing blow to MAGA nationwide.

Whatever It Takes!

This is not just about winning—it’s about shifting the culture and changing the trajectory of our country. That’s why this week’s theme was simple but urgent:
🎵 “Whatever It Takes” by Imagine Dragons kicked off the Friday Power Lunch—because that’s the attitude we need to bring to this moment. Invincible. Focused. All in.

Meet the Attorney General Candidates: Power, Passion, and Purpose

This week, we turned the spotlight on the candidates running for VA Attorney General. But in true Power Lunch fashion, we ditched the ordinary and went innovative, because that is just who we are!

We had 12 questions, and candidates picked their number. The result? A smart, engaging, and even fun way to get to know the people who want to be the top legal voice for Virginia.

Former Delegate Jay Jones
A husband, a father, and a fighter. Jay Jones is ready to take on MAGA extremism and stand up to the dangerous agendas of Elon Musk and Donald Trump. He’s been in the trenches as Assistant AG—and he’s ready for the next level.

Shannon Taylor, Commonwealth Attorney
Henrico’s Commonwealth Attorney since 2011, Shannon Taylor brings state, local, and federal legal experience—and a tough record of standing up for communities.

The Power Chat: We’re Ticked Off—for Good Reason

This week’s Power Chat brought the “Pisstivity”! Yes that’s a word!

Finale brought up Birthright citizenship under attack? Does it remind you of the worst decision in Supreme Court history! It should!
Katherine is so angry about Kristi Noem (dog killer) claiming Afghanistan is safe for those who risked their lives to support American forces that she wrote about it! And I love Carrie’s idea for where Noem should go!

As Carrie reminded us—channeling Simon Rosenberg—this is unconstitutional, illegal, and wrong. You don’t need a poli-sci degree to know this is outrageous. You just need a heart, some common sense, and the will to speak up. Waiting for you Republicans, or will you continue to fail us monumental ways! Ugh! Watch our entire segment above.

Meet the Lieutenant Governor Candidates: Deep Bench, Big Energy

We’ve got a stacked lineup for Lieutenant Governor. Here’s who came through:

Senator Aaron Rouse
From the NFL to the Senate, Rouse is a homegrown Hampton Roads hero raised by a single mom, working since he was 10. He brings hustle and heart.

👉 [Watch Senator Rouse’s entire introduction here.]

Senator Ghazala Hashmi
The first Muslim and South Asian American in the Virginia Senate, Senator Hashmi brings bold, thoughtful leadership and vision.

👉 [Watch Senator Hashmi’s entire introduction here.]

Dr. Babur Lateef
Physician, business owner, school board chair—Dr. Lateef is all about service, advocacy, and lifting up the next generation.

👉 [Watch Dr. Lateef’s entire introduction here.]

Alex Bastani
Attorney, labor leader, fighter for federal workers—Alex Bastani has decades of experience pushing back against injustice.

⚠️ Note: Mayor Levar Stoney and Victor Salgado couldn’t make it to the live show, but Salgado did join the After Chat—We appreciated that as did our audience. Whatever it takes, right?

🗳️ Early voting is underway!
Election Day is June 17th, and early voting runs through June 14th.

A Cool Way to Meet Candidates (Only on the Friday Power Lunch!)

Who else does it like this? Fun, fast-paced, fun fluff—and deep insights into what each candidate values, fights for, and plans to do for us. This is how we vet leaders.

Our Closing Thoughts (Because We Always Have Something to Say)

Katherine, Carrie and Finale

The After Chat!

The After Chat —with over 100 guests sticking around to go deeper. This is where grassroots intelligence gets sharp and strategies start to form. You want to know what the country thinks— We are the country dammit! We don’t put everything in the streets. Some of this? It’s family business. And we’re growing the biggest, most prepared family on the frontlines of democracy to fight this tragic regime!

No Power Lunch Until June 6—Because We’re Getting Ready to POWER UP!

🎉 The Women’s Summit is coming—The crew is building something EPIC to meet this moment!
🧰 Expect tool belts, strategy sessions, and a thousand fighters showing up ready to take the first step and turn Virginia dark navy blue! It is a step towards the state and democracy we deserve. The time to stay home is not June 27th -June 29th. Don’t be afraid. We got you.
