We are so close to the Women’s Summit we can feel the energy!
This week’s job for the Power Lunch, whether you’re fired up or feeling a little weary, was to remind you: we are stronger together—and we’ve got a lot of work to do. We can show you how to get it all done. Of all the things, one of the things, that we’re especially excited about is the re-introduction of the “PowerPacks". It’s the essence of being “Stronger Together”.
To celebrate one of the packs and the idea of women being stronger together, we opened with Whitney Houston’s “I’m Every Woman.” When women link arms, raise their voices, and share power—everything is better. Like Whitney + Chaka (the original artist)+ Cissy + Valerie +TLC… the song was good, now it’s fabulous! We can do the same! I love it…someone said we are the remix. That is exactly what Katherine did with the song. You can see we get our joy from our music. It lifts our spirits. Enjoy the remix here.
Celebrating Juneteenth
This wasn’t a week to look away. As the current President of the United States wanted to ignore Juneteenth, we remembered and reflected—on freedom delayed to 250,000 slaves in Galveston Texas and the ongoing fight for racial equity.
From Galveston in 1865 to our fight in 2025, Juneteenth is not just history—it’s a call to action. It helps initiate difficult conversations and raises awareness about the country’s complicated and tragic history of slavery, as well as our relationship with race today.
We also confronted the tragic assassinations in Minnesota, and we talked honestly about how to name violence, hold the villains accountable and never let silence with Republicans do the talking. There is not two sides to the horror that happened in Minnesota and every single Republican must denounce it!

“Banned Together” – Fighting Back Against Book Bans
Enter the brilliant Dorri Scott—educator, advocate, and the powerhouse behind the Banned Together curriculum to enhance learning for students from classrooms to boardrooms worldwide. What we are most excited about is the documentary she is working on also titled “Banned Together” you don’t want to miss it. It is an amazing story about three students who fight to reinstate books that were pulled from their school library. Dorri also tells us that today more than 10,000 books across the country have been banned and what the consequences are to all of us. Here the entire segment here.
Our Friday Power Lunch audience and Women’s Summit ticket holders get exclusive access to view the film Banned Together between Juneteenth and July 6 for just $4.99!
